In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us.

Bios of the three Nominees

Lisa Aune – Kindergarten Teacher

I am a Brandon, Florida native. I was raised in First Baptist Church of Seffner. I grew up in a school around teachers who were passionate about education. Their love for me to succeed nurtured my desire to become a teacher. After substituting in public school and administrating in a child care facility, my desire was to continue in this role.

I enrolled my daughter here at Bell Shoals Baptist Academy at the age of three. I knew immediately I wanted to return to the classroom. During the time my daughter was in Kindergarten, I began substituting. I was hired as a Kindergarten teacher that following school year. I have spent the last 22 years teaching the love of Jesus to children… My daughter, Lauren, graduated from BSBA and will soon graduate from the University of Florida with her Doctorate Degree in Pharmacy.. She is the “love” of my life. BSBA is like family and a place you are cherished and loved!

Mrs. Kimberly Oates – VPK Teacher

I was so blessed to ask Jesus to be the “boss of my life” when I was 7 at vacation bible school. I always loved playing school with my 3 younger sisters. Years later, it is a dream come true to be a teacher at Bell Shoals Baptist Early Learning Center.

I graduated from Liberty University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree. I also received a national CDA from CFIT in early childhood. After being privileged to be a stay at home mom for 13 years, God opened doors for me at Bell Shoals Academy when my youngest of my 4 children, started school. I am grateful to have taught for the last 7 years here sharing the message with all my young students that God loves them and so does Mrs. Oates! My husband David and I have been blessed to have been married and in ministry together for 23 years.

Debbie Moore

Education: BS in Nursing from UNCC, Hillsborough Community College’s Educator Preparation Institute

Teaching Certifications: State of Florida and ACSI

Experience: 10 years as a 1st grade teacher at BSBA & 5 years as a 4th grade teacher at BSBA

Subject Areas: Bible, Math, Science, History, and Fl. Studies

Favorite Bible Verse: Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.”

I love teaching children about their Lord and Savior. It is exciting to see children come to know who God is through learning his many attributes and character traits. I seek to help children grow in their personal relationship with Jesus through teaching them how to pray specifically and study the Bible and apply it to their daily lives.

Personal: I am married and have 2 children, Brittany and Tyler, who both attended BSBA. I love to go to our beach place on the weekends, boat, fish, and travel.

I was raised in a Christian home. My life revolved around church. If the church doors were open we were there. My parents were Sunday school teachers and my dad was a deacon. From a very early age I was taught of the love of Jesus and His great gift of salvation. But, at the age of ten I came to the understanding I was not a Christian just because my parents were Christians or because I attended church and so gave my life to Jesus.

I had a longing in my heart for a personal relationship with Christ Jesus. I knew from scripture that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23, that included me. I realized that I was a sinner and in need of a Savior who could give me eternal life. “For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23 I understood that I needed to make this decision myself. “That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9 I confessed my sinfulness to a holy and righteous God and through his grace and mercy I was saved. “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:13

It is my desire to walk with Him daily in an intimate relationship. He fills me every day with hope, joy, and peace that He alone can give.
